As is always the case, we ask parents and caregivers to let our school know if your child will not be attending school, for how long and the reason why.

If you choose to keep your child home due to concerns about COVID-19 you can be assured that you have made an acceptable decision.

As outlined above, if you choose to keep your children at home, you can access materials available on the department's learning@home website (qld.gov.au/learningathome) or other websites with curriculum materials. These materials have been available from the department for times when children have not attended school for extended periods.

The following resources have been designed by classroom teachers at Peregian Springs State School to assist with home learning for students to continue their educational journey during any school closures.

Please continue to check your regular class and school communication methods, e.g. Class Padlet, Dojo, email, Facebook etc.

There is no compulsion to complete any of this.

In the event that they don't not want to do this with you we encourage you to let them play

  • Outside in the dirt 😊
  • Lego
  • Box construction
  • Make believe games
  • Board games
  • The fitness activities Brooke, our PE teacher, has loaded onto the page below
  • Baking
  • Ball games and other cooperative games

Try to limit screen time for entertainment as much as possible.

These activities will ensure their brains keeps ticking over until they come back to school.
