Read, Grow, Inspire
Book Week Assembly launch is on Friday 18 August. Come dressed as a book character who has allowed you to grow or who has inspired you.
We are running a Writing Competition in the lead up to Book Week. Students are encouraged to write a short story in 25 words or less. This is open to all year levels with prizes awarded at each year level. Students can write their story on a leaf which can be collected from the Library. These leaves will add to a display that is growing in our Library space. Winners will be awarded at our Book Week Assembly. Entries close on Friday 11 August, 9am (one week before).
We will also have some events in Book Week:
- Special storytelling sessions with staff from around the school
- Activities with classes on shortlisted books across the week
During our Book Week Assembly, we will award each class with two prizes. These prizes are awarded to the two Most Motivated Readers as selected by each class teacher. These students don’t need to be the ‘best’ readers but the students who try hard with their reading, have made big gains, have a true love of reading or have completed the Premiers’ Reading Challenge.
