Stay informed of the latest developments relating to COVID-19 by regularly visiting the Queensland Government website.

What happens if your child falls ill at school?

Under the Queensland Chief Health Officer Directive, any student who is unwell must not attend school and students should remain at home until well. This cannot be emphasised enough – it is critical in maintaining our school community's wellbeing. The school must ask parents/carers to immediately collect their child from school if they are unwell.

We will not be administering RATs when children present to the office with symptoms. The Health advice is that children are isolated, parents called to collect them immediately and a RAT is offered to take home. Parents will be responsible for all testing and reporting.

State school students, if they have COVID-19 symptoms, can visit your local Queensland health testing clinic and will be given priority access to a free RAT.

Isolation and absence from school

For isolation times please refer to the Queensland Government website for current information.

General

As always, decisions about the operation of schools will be guided by health advice and informed by the status of Queensland’s response to COVID-19 situation at the time. Refer to the Queensland Government website for current information.

  • leave the school grounds as soon as you can. Please do not hang around to catch up with your friends.
  • when possible, email your class teacher. Communicate with your child’s teacher by telephone or email.
