Extra-Curricular School Sport Opportunities
Engaging in Extra-Curricular School Sports offers numerous benefits for students such as boosting physical and mental health, social skills, discipline, time management, goal setting, self-confidence, networking, stress relief and cultural exposure. It's important to note that while Extra-Curricular School Sports offer a multitude of advantages, they should be perused in moderation to avoid burnout and to maintain a healthy balance with other aspects of life, including academics and personal time. General guidelines for Extra-Curricular School Sports are below:
- All Extra-Curricular School Sports are dependent on staff volunteers/availability
- Students will be made aware of Extra-Curricular Sport opportunities via Health lessons or their classroom teachers. A nomination day/time/location will be communicated to students who are interested
- Depending on how many students can attend, a trial may need to be held during a lunch break. This will be announced during Year level meetings on Monday mornings
- School trials are conducted with two x HPE teachers and relevant staff experts in the nominated sport area
- Parents are emailed a link to fill in permission/medical and payment forms if their student has been selected in an Extra-Curricular School Sport team
- Selected students must uphold the School Rules and Code of Behaviour to be approved for Extra-Curricular School Sport events
- It is expected that students from Peregian Springs State School show outstanding behaviour, sportsmanship and effort during Extra-Curricular School Sport events
