Principal's welcome

Dear Parents/Caregivers

Welcome to our school community – Peregian Springs State School. We opened for 264 learners in January 2010, and we have grown quickly to have more than 1040 children enrolled. 2018 is our ninth year of operation. Our first years were exciting and inspirational and full of fun for students, parents and staff. And we are looking forward to this year being just as exciting!

I feel incredibly privileged to be Principal of Peregian Springs State School.  It is a school full of enthusiastic and committed people – students, staff and parents are committed to their environment, to learning and most of all to each other.  It is a place where all people are making great friends.

At Peregian Springs State School we foster a culture of learning and care in which all children are valued for the diversity, skills and talents they have.  I am committed to the development of the full potential of each and every child. As a result, we have developed a curriculum that is matched to the needs of each individual student, while still taking into account the needs of the whole group. In providing such a curriculum, our school is structured to allow for more flexibility than traditional age grouping allows.  Thus, many children work together in multi-age groups as well as in single-age groups.

Peregian Springs State School is becoming an important hub of this special community.  It is a place that children, parents and staff members can’t wait to get to every day!  As time goes by we are establishing ways of working that ensure students, staff, parents and community members are safe and happy.

A Plan for Responsible Behaviour for Students, in line with the Department of Education and Training Code of Behaviour, has been developed with student, teacher and parent input. This includes a set of expectations about behaviour. We focus strongly on encouraging students to accept responsibility for their own behaviour and in teaching them to be self-managed and make responsible choices.

As Principal, I am deeply committed to the development and achievement of high standards in academic and social learning. Your help in keeping us to this commitment will be a vital part of our association over the years.  Please take up our genuine invitation to be involved in the classrooms and in all other aspects of your school.

I look forward to our partnership and hope that your association with the school is a long and happy one.
